Simon Grieve:
Simon received a tennis scholarship from Francis Marion University, South Carolina, captained the team during the 1992/93 season in which time they were ranked 11th NCAA II and graduated with a B.Sc. degree in psychology…..
He then worked for the Van der Meer tennis Academy in South Carolina for two years. During this time he gained the USPTR Professional qualification, worked with many WTA Tour players and travelled with juniors to world-class tournaments including the Orange Bowl and the Grand Slams….
Since returning to England in 1997, Simon has travelled with the ITF touring team around Europe, has passed the LTA’s Performance Coaches Award and has helped develop the Maidstone Tennis Academy. He currently works with a number of promising juniors and his coaching goal is to produce world-class players….
Simon continues to play for his club and although he doesn’t want to get older, is looking forward to competing in over 35 ITF tournaments.
John Shepherd:
John competed on the satellite tour in Europe and Australia during the early 1990’s. He now combines his competitive tennis with his Head Coaches position at the Sevenoaks Performance Academy in England….
He became interested in performance coaching and in particular the movement aspect of the game. In 1999 John graduated from Christchurch University in England with a degree in Sports Science. Three years later he received his masters degree in physiology, then he became a Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) and now specialises in tennis movement….
Since graduating, John has worked with a number of top British junior players and has travelled to many tournaments including the Orange Bowl; he too wants to produce world-class players.
“We are both are passionate about tennis. Not only have we spent years playing, competing and teaching tennis, but we have also travelled extensively and have met some wonderful people because of this great game.
We developed this tennis resource so other tennis enthusiasts could share in our enjoyment of the game. We hope you like the site and welcome any feedback!
