Tennis is a game for life, whether you are 9 or 90 you can still
enjoy this great game. Therefore, it is very important that the
technique we teach or use does not force our pupils or ourselves
out of the game through injury.
Having good rhythm is not only important if you want to hit the ball hard but it is also essential if you want to play the game without pain in the future.
In the following video clips I will highlight how Evelyn Fleeming (a nationally ranked U12 junior from Great Britain) changed her service motion, making it far smoother with the potential to become a weapon in the future!
This first video clip shows her serve in the summer of 2006. She could generate a fair amount of pace, however, notice how much effort she has to put into the serve; then compare her swing with Anna Ivanovic's and notice how the differnces in rhythm.
